Montanaro brings deep Asia Pacific market background to global leader in mobile trade-in solutions

IRVING, Texas, June 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- eRecyclingCorps (eRC), a global leader in wireless device trade-in solutions, today announced the appointment of Mauro Montanaro as managing director of APAC (Asia Pacific). Montanaro's telecommunications experience in the Asia Pacific market will help guide eRC as the company continues to grow its global operations.

"Mauro is a proven innovator in the telecommunications industry, particularly in how digital opportunities can drive growth, and we welcome his insight and leadership," said eRC CEO David Edmondson. "His deep experience building businesses, channels and teams across the region makes him an incredibly important addition to the eRecyclingCorps team as we continue to transform the mobile industry."

Montanaro began his career at Nokia and rose to vice president of sales, multimedia and customer and market operations for South East Asia Pacific, where he managed a 44-member distributor network and 70,000 retailer points of sales networks across 14 countries, driving record growth for the company in the region. Montanaro developed and delivered a Nokia experience that bundled digital content with every phone and service program, finding consistent value for consumers, distributors and the company. He later became CEO and president of Fox Mobile Group, one of the largest mobile content providers in the world. Montanaro also has held leadership positions at Microsoft and Newkia prior to joining eRC.

"eRC has helped changed the mobile industry in five short years, largely by thinking outside the box to give idle devices a second life," Montanaro said. "Today, the demand for affordable, high quality mobile devices continues to grow around the world. I look forward to using my experiences in identifying emerging opportunities, particularly in the Asia Pacific market, to help meet this demand in continually innovative and industry-shaping ways."

Montanaro earned his law degree with honors from the Universita' di Bologna, Italy and completed his MBA at the Helsinki School of Economics & Manchester Business School.
