RICHLAND, WA - At the Richland City Council meeting Tuesday, members started to pave the way for a proposed subdivision in South Richland.

Council members voted five to one to re-zone the Amon Creek Natural Preserve. About 89.6 acres of the land will be re-zoned from agricultural to medium density residential small lot and another 17.6 acres will go from agricultural to natural open space.

The council also unanimously approved the preliminary piece of land for Hayden Home's clearwater creek subdivision. However, by approving that plat, it does not obligate the City of Richland to build a road in the area or through the Amon Preserve.

The city council will discuss Rachel Road later this month on June 17th.
