PASCO, WA - Pasco Police are looking for the robber who held up a convenience store with a machete.

Officers say a man went to the Sky Market convenience store at 20th and Sylvester late Tuesday night, showed the clerk the machete and demanded money. Police say the man ran off with cash, and drove away. No one got hurt in the hold up.

The surveillance photos show the robber wearing a bandana over his face, a letterman's style dark jacket with white sleeves and a hood, and dark pants with three white stripes down the legs. He has a medium build and is average height.

Police say this robbery has similarities to an armed robbery at the King City convenience store in May.

"Well he's been successful at this point with his machete and robbing these businesses. Here's what we believe, we really think that the community is going to know who this robber is. Somebody out there knows who this individual is," explained Pasco Police Captain Jim Raymond.

In the video above, you can see the man ducks behind the counter. He goes into the back room to find the woman working that night. She is visibly frightened as he urges her out to the register all the while pointing that machete right at her.

"Canine tracks and area searches kind of give us an indication that he's fleeing and getting into a vehicle in the area and leaving. They are similar in that aspect yes."

Where this thief seems to be local, police believe there are other people who live locally who may know him. At this time they hope someone will step up and give them any clues or information so that no one else will have to go through a similar scary incident.

If you have any tips or any information that could lead to the capture of this man, you are asked to contact the Pasco Police Department by calling (509) 545-3415
