TC Americans Draft Picks Selected for Provincial Summer Camps

KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced Wednesday that five of the team’s Bantam Draft picks will be participating in, or have taken part in, their respective provincial programs of excellence in preparation for national tournaments this fall.

“This is an excellent opportunity for our prospects to develop within a structured framework, while competing against the top athletes in their provincial age group” stated Tory.  “We are proud of our list players and wish them good luck over the summer.  We look forward to seeing them all at our rookie camp in August.”

Below is a list of players and the respective camps they will be attending:

British Columbia – U-16 (Nanaimo, B.C.)

July 8 – July 13

-       Michael Rasmussen, Forward (1st Round, 7th overall, 2014 Draft)

Alberta – U-16 (Camrose, AB)

July 15 – July 20

-       Brett Leason, Forward (3rd Round, 50th overall, 2014 Draft)

-       Kyle Olson, Forward (3rd Round, 45th overall, 2014 Draft)

Saskatchewan – SaskFirst U-16 (Wilcox, SK)

July 23 – July 27

-       Riley Sawchuk, Forward (6th Round, 116th, 2014 Draft)

Manitoba – U-16 (Winnipeg, MB)

May 8 – May 11

      The Tri-City Americans (3-1-1-0, 7 pts) fell behind early to the Prince George Cougars (1-3-0-0, 2 pts), but took the lead in the second period and never looked back, earning a 5-2 win in front of 2,409 at the CN Centre on Friday Night.
    • Americans Start Road Trip with 4-3 Win over Kamloops

      The Tri-City Americans (2-1-1-0, 4 pts) never led against the Kamloops Blazers (0-5-0-0, 0 pts) until the third period, as Beau McCue’s third period tally was the difference as the Americans won 4-3 in front of 3,195 at the Sandman Centre on Wednesday night.
    • Americans Need Overtime to get Past Thunderbirds, 6-5

      The Tri-City Americans started the game with five goals, followed by the Seattle Thunderbirds (1-1-1-0, 3 pts) scoring five goals to even the score. Parker Wotherspoon netted the game winning goal in overtime to give the Americans a 6-5 win in front of 3,011 at the Toyota Center on Sunday night.
    • Americans Name McCue Team Captain for 2015-16 WHL Season

      Tri-City Americans’ Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced Friday that 20-year-old forward Beau McCue has been named Team Captain, along with teammates Brandon Carlo, Parker Wotherspoon, Parker Bowles and Taylor Vickerman named assistant captains for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
    • Americans Trade Ty Comrie to Vancouver for Bantam Draft Pick

      The Tri-City Americans have traded forward Ty Comrie to the Vancouver Giants for a conditional third round draft pick in next year's WHL Bantam Draft.
