Walla Walla Police Investigating Another Report of "Shots Fired"

WALLA WALLA, WA - Walla Walla Police are investigating a report of several shots being fired Tuesday night near the area of 1st Avenue and Chestnut Street.

Police got several calls around 7:40 P.M. Tuesday from people saying they heard 4-5 shots heard in the area and saw a few people running from the scene.

When officers got to the scene, they found several spent handgun cartridges, but no reports of injuries or property damage. There is no evidence to show that this shooting incident is gang related. 

Witnesses say they saw three people, two women and a man, running from the area. Detectives do not know if there were the suspects or victims. 

A red 4-door sedan was also seen leaving the area shortly after the shots were fired. 

This is the 9th report of "shots fired" since May 1st of this year in the Walla Walla area, which is down from 13 similar reports last year during the same time.
