YAKIMA, WA - A Davis High School teacher is competing for the cover of Men's Health Magazine, and you can help him make that goal a reality.

At around 55-years-old, Terry Cooper said he started the process of losing weight and gaining muscle.

Three years later, Cooper is in fantastic shape and competing for the cover of Men's Health Magazine.

Cooper said contestants have to submit pictures and write four essays on how they stay fit, why it's important to them, how they maintain a healthy lifestyle and how they give back to their community.

The english teacher said he'd be delighted to make the cover and be a role model for the community of Yakima.

"We so often get caught up in what the expectation is for certain behavior and looks for people of a certain age, and we don't realize that we can do more," said Cooper. "There are more fulfilling energetic lives available to people."

The top 20 men who receive the most votes will move on to the finals. From there, judges will pick three candidates to be flown to New York for a photo shoot, but only one will make the cover.

You can vote for Mr. Cooper just by clicking here. Voting ends June 15th.
