Zillah Runners Get Dirty to Help Local Organization

Posted: Updated:
ZILLAH, WA. -- Runners got down and dirty for developmental disabilities in Zillah Saturday afternoon.

The inaugural Dirty and Proud Obstacle Run raised thousands of dollars for the Advocates for Rights of Citizens group. The ARC works to improve the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. Organizers hope participants Saturday can walk away with a little better understanding.

"We just hope everyone has a good time," Linda Fox said. "There are people out here with disabilities and we're rubbing elbows which is always a good thing."

The ARC says the money raised Saturday will go toward helping the group build a community center sometime in the future.
