    BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Miss Nevada Nia Sanchez, a fourth-degree black belt in the Korean martial art of taekwondo, has been crowned Miss USA 2014. She has beat out 50 other contestants Sunday night in Louisiana. First runner-up was Miss North Dakota Audra Mari. Erin Brady, of South Glastonbury, Connecticut, the 2013 winner, gave up her crown to Sanchez after a three-hour telecast from the Baton Rouge Civic Center in Louisiana.More >>

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - In case you missed the Miss USA Pageant on Sunday night, here are the 51 women who competed for the crown which ended up going to Miss Nevada, Nia Sanchez. This was 63rd Miss USA title and Sanchez will now go on to represent the U.S. at the Miss Universe competition later this year.

    KEARNEY, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol says the nearly 120 pounds of suspected cocaine and fentanyl that troopers seized last month turned out to be all fentanyl, a deadly opioid that federal officials blame for thousands of deaths nationwide. The patrol says the stash was a record fentanyl seizure in Nebraska and estimates the drugs may have been worth up to $20 million on the street.

    TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida’s ban that prevents medical marijuana patients from smoking their cannabis has gone up in smoke. Leon County Circuit Court Judge Karen Gievers on Friday ruled that a state’s ban on smokable cannabis is unconstitutional. Florida’s Department of Health said in a statement it has appealed the ruling, which will impose an automatic stay.
