KENNEWICK, WA - A Kennewick man is in custody after making threats to kill a Kennewick police officer.

On May 28th, officers received a tip that a man on Craigslist Rants & Raves was making threats because he was upset over citations he received in 2011 and 2013. Officers obtained a search warrant and went to 38-year-old Keith Eric Brier's home at 1620 S. Dayton Place.

Police confirmed Brier was inside with his 6-year-old son but he refused to come out. The Tri-City Regional SWAT team surrounded his home until Brier walked out of his home without incident.

The 6-year-old was turned over to his mother who had been waiting with police.

Several nearby residences were evacuated for a short time during the incident. Washington Elementary School was also placed on lockdown for approximately one hour.
