UPDATE: Officers Release Names of Two Children Found Dead Monday
Kennewick police say they are investigating after two children were found dead inside their home near the intersection of W. 3rd Ave. and S. Kansas Street.

Officers say an autopsy is scheduled Wednesday for both Kaitlin Austin, 16, and Ethan Austin, 12. Andrew Austin found the brother and sister when he came home Monday. Andrew Austin is the boy's biological father and the girl's stepfather.
WSP Crime Scene Response Team will continue Tuesday to process the crime scene. Investigators will continue to canvass the neighborhood looking for anyone who may have seen or heard something additional. They will also be reviewing social media websites along with private surveillance in the neighborhood.
Investigators have confirmed four people were living in the house; the two victims and the mom and dad. There is another 20-year-old daughter who visits periodically.
Officers are continuing to handle the incident as a death investigation.
KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police are investigating after two kids were found dead by their step-dad at their home on the 8600 block of West Third Avenue Monday.
Police tell NBC Right Now when they got to the home around 5:00 P.M. Monday, they found the bodies of a 16-year-old girl and 12 year-old boy inside the home with a handgun found nearby. Between the kids, officers say there were multiple gun shots wounds.
However, it has not been made clear if one or both of the children suffered multiple gun shots.
Right now, police are interviewing family members and canvasing the neighborhood to see if neighbors saw anything out of the ordinary.
"There was a hand gun found at the scene and right now we don't know what all happened but we are investigating, we're waiting for the WSP crime lab to arrive to help is process the scene, we're talking to neighbors to see what they may have heard or seen this afternoon but right now it is a tragedy," Sgt. Ken Lattin of the Kennewick Police Department explained.
Police say there are no suspects right now and no signs of forced entry into the house. Investigators will be at the home for the rest of the night, hoping to get some answers.

WSP is bringing their mobile crime lab to be part of the investigation.
