YAKIMA, WA - The West Valley High School Freshman Campus briefly went into a "working lock down" Wednesday morning.

School District Assistant Superintendent Dr. Peter Finch says a parent was outside the school protesting, because their child, who is a student, was suspended on Tuesday.

Finch says administrators locked down the school for less than 30 minutes to help control the campus. He says students were never in danger, the lock down was meant to keep students focused and in their classrooms during the last day of school.

Finch says the working lock down was lifted when the protesting parent agreed with law enforcement officers who were on the scene.
