KENNEWICK, WA. - Kate Austin was not only a daughter and sister but also a team player for the Washington Angels.

Her club softball coach Robert Benson released a statement Thursday on Kate. It is posted below:

This tragic event has impacted the softball community tremendously. Kate is well known, as she has been playing for several years, and has given us so many memories. It has been a great honor to have been able to a part of her and her families lives. The Austin's are great people, and we are absolutely devastated by this. Words cannot express the loss. However, the whole softball community has rallied behind the Austin family, and are holding each other together. I cannot even express the strength of this community coming together at this most tragic time. Our organization, as well as all the local softball organizations, the local high schools, and college programs around the country have joined in support of the Austin's for their unspeakable loss.

Kate's softball team put together a video to commemorate the loss, you can watch it here.

Kate and her brother Ethan were found shot to death in the Hansen Park Home on Monday. The community continues to come together to remember the lives of both children.
