IRRIGON, Ore. - The Morrow County Sheriff's Office says a man who tried to step in and help during an altercation at a restaurant and bar in Irrigon ended up getting stabbed.

Deputies say a group of people went in to the Sub Zero restaurant and bar about 11:44 Thursday night, and the bartender knew at least one of them was not old enough to drink.  The bartender asked the group to leave which started an argument.  Aaron VanFossen, 37 of Irrigon stepped in to help the bartender when a fight broke out, and he was stabbed in the abdomen.  The suspects then left the restaurant.

Witnesses told deputies Seth Edward Lee Finch, 19 of Pendleton was the one who stabbed VanFossen.  Umatilla Tribal Police found and arrested Finch and took him to the Umatilla County Jail on multiple charges.  The Sheriff's Office says the investigation isn't over, and they'll probably arrest more people.
