YAKIMA, WA - Are you looking to get more involved with your local law enforcement? Now, the Yakima Police Department has an app for that.

By clicking reports, you can submit non-emergency crimes or concerns or even send an anonymous tip.

The schools section will give you the name and number of every school resource officer, and under the commend button, if you have a positive experience with a Yakima Police Officer you can leave some feedback.

"We have to stay on the cutting edge of where your society and your community is going," said Captain Rod Light with the Yakima Police Department. "It's a valuable tool, and a means to stay connected with your local law enforcement."

There's also a police directory and even a link to show you who's being housed in the city jail.

The app is available now for iPhones and will soon be available for Android users.
