FORWARD OPERATING BASE APACHE, Afghanistan - Cpl. Justin Clouse was remembered by soldiers in a special ceremony in Afghanistan this week.

Clouse was from Sprague, Washington and was one of five soldiers who died back on June 10th in Gaza Village while engaged in a combat operation. The events surrounding his death is under investigation by the Department of Defense.

The ceremony took place on Forward Operating Base Apache in Afghanistan. The standing room only crowd of soldiers came to pay their respects to Cpl. Clouse and Pfc. Aaron Toppen, who was also killed in the same combat operation.

An article written by Staff Sgt. John Etheridge stated:

"Two soldiers didn’t answer the roll call today. Both of their names were called out three times by the first sergeant, but still there was no answer. After a brief pause, at midday, the sound of Taps filled the air, preparing two heroes for their final rest."
