Former head coach of the Washington State University men's basketball team, Ken Bone, has joined Travis DeCuire's staff as the Associate Head Coach of the Montana Grizzlies.

Bone was let go this past year after his fifth season with the Cougs, finishing with an 80-86 record while prowling the sidelines in Pullman. Prior to coaching at WSU Bone was the head coach at Portland State, leading the Vikings to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and a 77-49 record in four seasons. Bone was also in charge of his alma matter, Seattle Pacific University, for 12 years and has an overall record of 361-202 in 19 seasons as a head coach.

Having someone with a vast amount of head coaching experience was important to DeCuire as a first-year head coach.

"I thought for me and the first time as a head coach, it's important to have someone on the bench and in the office that had experience with making decisions, and also having a calm mind to weather the storm in big, pressure games," DeCuire said to Monatana's GoGriz.com. "For me it's important to have someone like Ken who is very experienced on the bench."

DeCuire retained Jono Metzger-Jones and also added Chris Cobb to his staff, while Marlon Stewart will serve as the Griz's Director of Basketball Operations.

"I am very comfortable with this staff," DeCuire said to GoGriz.com. "I think that when you look at your staff and you look at your team and your leadership, I've always believed in recruiting winners when you put your team together. In order to do that you have to have a staff who understands what a winner is and what it takes to get there. When you look at our staff, every one of them has played a role in some sort of championship or another."
