Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police are looking for a man who officers say tried to kidnap a woman .Police say the 65-year-old woman pulled into the parking lot of Fred Meyer around 7 o'clock Sunday night. Before she got out of her car, officers say an African American man in his 20's got into the car through the back, grabbed her, and threatened her not to leave.

Police say the woman fought back and suffered minor injuries before she ran into the Fred Meyer. Police also explain that the woman did exactly what she should have to get out of the situation. Screaming, hitting, scratching and even biting the attacker helped her get free and to a safer place.

"You don't want to go with them because what they intend to do to you is going to happen in a secondary location. You yell, you scream and you fight with all of your might. Do not let them take you away, so what this lady did in this case, and scary situation at Fred Meyers was exactly right," explained Sgt. Ken Lattin from the Kennewick Police Department.

Officers say the man drove off in a black sedan.
