Tri-City Americans Release 2014 Pre-Season Schedule

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor & General Manager Bob Tory unveiled the team’s 2014 Pre-Season schedule on Tuesday.  The full 2014-15 Regular Season schedule will be released on June 25th.  For Tri-City, this year’s exhibition season is, once again, highlighted by two separate tournament appearances, as well as two additional pre-season contests for a total of eight exhibition games leading into the franchise’s 27th season in the Mid-Columbia.

The Americans will start the pre-season portion of their schedule by participating in the Everett Silvertips’ 11th annual Holiday Inn Preseason Classic tournament, scheduled from August 29-31 at Comcast Arena.  It will be the franchise’s eighth consecutive trip to the Silvertips’ tournament.  While there, Tri-City will match-up against their U.S. Division rivals, the Seattle Thunderbirds and Portland Winterhawks, as well as the B.C. Division’s Victoria Royals.

Tri-City then returns home to host the 2014 Red Lion Hotels Pre-Season Tournament, scheduled for September 4-6 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.  The Tournament will feature a two-game Thursday evening schedule, as well as a three-game per day schedule on Friday and Saturday.  This year’s tournament will feature the host Americans, their four U.S. Division rivals (Everett, Portland, Seattle and Spokane) as well as the Central Division’s Kootenay Ice and tournament newcomer, the Red Deer Rebels.

The Americans will then wrap-up their portion of the pre-season schedule with two exhibition games, featuring a home-and-home series with the Spokane Chiefs.  First, on Thursday, September 11, the Americans will head north for a pre-season match-up with the Chiefs.  Then, on Saturday, September 13, Tri-City and Spokane will wrap-up the exhibition schedule at the Toyota Center.  To view the 2014 WHL Pre-Season Schedule in its entirety, visit
