RICHLAND, WA - The Richland School District Tuesday night awarded the general contractor bid for the new elementary school in south Richland to Fowler General Construction, Richland. Fowler’s bid of $15.87 million was the lowest of four bids submitted.

The District’s 10th elementary school will be built on a 12-acre site located south of Keene Road near the intersection of Brantingham and Westcliffe. The new school will open in August 2015.

Fowler is also the general contractor for the District’s Lewis & Clark Elementary School project which broke ground in May, and the Sacajawea Elementary School project which broke ground last week.

“The growing area of south Richland will be well served by this state-of-the-art school,” said Superintendent Rick Schulte. “We once again thank community members for their commitment to providing up-to-date facilities for our children.”

District residents approved a $98 million bond issue for the new school and eight other projects in February 2013. Details on the projects are available here
