UPDATE/Kennewick, WA. - Police confirm the 32-year-old suspect in a Friday morning officer-involved shooting, Aaron Thomas Wright, has died.

Two officers are believed to have shot at Wright two different times. The Special Investigations Unit is investigating.

This isn't the first time Wright has been in trouble with the law. Back in 2010 police arrested Wright after a standoff in West Pasco. The three hour incident happened on the 2800 block of Road 100.

Police had responded to call about a man threatening to commit suicide. That man was Wright.

They believed Wright had a gun and they wanted to look out for his welfare and the safety of the people.

ENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police say a man is in the hospital after an officer involved shooting Friday morning.

Officers tried to pull the man over around 7:45 when they noticed he was driving a stolen car. However, the man wouldn't stop and led officers on a chase along North Volland Street.

Police say they used spike strips and the man eventually stopped driving at Klamath Ave, pointed a gun at his head, got out of the car, and pointed the gun at police. Two officers opened fire on the man, who ran into a duplex.

After officers searched the area, police say the man came out of the duplex carrying the gun, and officers opened fire again.

Police say at that point, the man was injured by the gunfire. Paramedics took him to the hospital, but there's no word yet on his condition.

Volland is currently closed from Hood Avenue to Canal Drive.

Our reporter, Zac Summers is on scene, working to learn more information.
