KENNEWICK, WA – NBC Right Now got answers to more questions after a press conference with Kennewick Police. They revealed more details about the gun used by Aaron Thomas Wright who is now deceased after the officer involved shooting that took place in Kennewick Friday morning.

The weapon used by 32 year-old Aaron Wright was in fact a pellet gun. The now deceased man had been pointing the gun to his head while being chased by officers for over 30 minutes in the area near North Volland Street. From afar it is nearly impossible to tell that the gun is in fact just a pellet gun. As Kennewick Police Chief Hohenberg showed during our questioning, the gun looks similar to a beretta pistol.

"It is actually a pellet pistol. It is not a normal firearm," explained Hohenberg. "I have no indication that he actually fired it at the officers. I don't know that he had the opportunity to do that."

Hohenberg did say that Wright pointed the gun at officers. They fired at him once before he ran into a nearby residence. When he tried to run a second time he was fired upon and injured. He ultimately died from those injuries at Trios Health in Kennewick.
