KENNEWICK, WA - After our evening shows Friday, Aaron Wright's extended family in Kennewick reached out to NBC Right Now to tell us Aaron's side.

The family tells us that Aaron had a rocky up-bringing, that lead to him to taking drugs and being homeless.

The family believes that Friday's events were a result of Aaron being on drugs, but that's not what they remember about him.

"He was a good kid. Really, he was a good kid. And I wish that he wasn't dead," Jesse Upchurch, who was part of Aaron's extended family, told NBC Right Now.

"I have no doubt in my mind that even if that would have been a real weapon that he was carrying, he would have not shot anybody. He just doesn't have that in him." Mars Rosser believes.

The family also tells us Aaron leaves behind a four-year-old and if there's one thing the family wants to stress is that Aaron loved his son more than anything.
