Reasons Explained for Car Left After Crashing Into Nob Hill Business

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA. -- The owners of SKH Beauty School in Yakima are pretty frustrated Monday. On Saturday, a van slammed into the side of the building along Nob Hill Boulevard. The problem is, the vehicle is still there.

People have been wondering on our Facebook all weekend long. Why this van has been left here, completely smashed.

We made some calls and found out the vehicle hit the building at a pretty high rate of speed on Saturday. Inside was a woman and a baby girl, just two years old. The airbags deployed but the child was not properly restrained. Fortunately, no one was injured.

So why is the van still here? We found out that the driver agreed to remove it on her own after the crash but has not returned to take it away. Meanwhile the owner of the business just wants to see the car gone!

"They have to move! they have to move," Sakie Heredia said. "Otherwise it is not a very good advertisement."

We found out that the owner of the property now has the right to call a tow truck who will remove the car at the driver's expense. The Yakima Police Department says they've received a handful of calls from people who think the accident just happened. But no need to worry, there's no emergency here.
