FINLEY, WA. - Benton County deputies are trying to figure out who is responsible for leaving a pipe bomb in the middle of the street near Meals and Toothaker Road.

Deputies say a driver on Friday found the bomb around noon in east Finley. The Washington State Patrol's Bomb Squad responded and decided to detonate the bomb on the scene.

Luckily no one was hurt. Deputies have no suspects and are now turning to the community for help.

"How it ended up to be in the middle of the intersection, we're asking the public for any assistance. If they saw anything at about that time that might be related they think would help us in our investigation, we'd greatly appreciate that," said Lt. Chuck Jones, Benton County Sheriff's Office.

The bomb was about 12" long and one and a half to two inches in diameter. Anyone with information should call the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
