RICHLAND, WA - The state Court of Appeals has upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by Hanford whistleblower Walter Tamosaitis regarding his lay-off.

The appeals court on Tuesday ruled a Benton County judge was correct to dismiss the case because Tamosaitis didn't show he had lost money as a result of being removed from work on the Hanford vitrification plant.

The former manager of the plant's research and technology group planned to appeal the decision to the state Supreme Court. His lawsuit is against Hanford contractor Bechtel National.

A spokesman for Bechtel says the company is confident the courts will affirm their previous rulings if Tamosaitis appeals.
