SPOKANE, Wash. -

Brian Coddington with the City of Spokane confirmed with KHQ Wednesday afternoon that the discrimination claim former Spokane Police Officer Brad Thoma filed against the city has been dismissed.

Thoma claimed that former Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick discriminated against him for being an alcoholic.

Thoma was fired by Kirkpatrick in 2009 after he drove drunk, rear-ended a pickup, and drove off from the scene while he was off-duty.

Coddington said even though the discrimination claim was dismissed, there are still two other claims pending with Thoma's lawsuit.

Last summer, Thoma was hired to be the police chief in Baudette, Minnesota.

We will be sure to keep you updated on any developments.
