SELAH, WA - Sunnyside’s former interim city manager now has to pay back more than $65,000 dollars to the city of Selah.

This is for the investigation into missing files investigators conducted when Frank Sweet left office as Selah’s City Supervisor prior to his stint in Sunnyside.

Prosecutors accused him of stealing personnel files for city documents and erasing emails and government documents from the city's computer system.

Yakima’s prosecuting attorney Jim Hagarty said repaying the city is part of a plea agreement prosecutors reached with Sweet back in January to avoid jail time.

Hagarty said the cost represents the expense of the investigation caused by Sweet's actions.
