SELAH, WA-- Firefighters are working on putting out a hay stack fire on South Wenas Road just North of Selah.
Fire crews said they got the call around 3:00 Friday morning. When they arrived at the scene a stack of hay was completely engulfed in flames.
Neighbors in the area they spoke with said they saw a truck drive off quickly moments before the hay stack went up in flames. They also said they think someone threw fireworks into the hay, which started the fire.
Firefighters are still investigating what caused the fire. They can not confirm it was fireworks until they put the flames out and complete their investigation.
Traffic was open to only one lane of traffic on part of South Wenas Road near the fire.
Crews contained the fire and are waiting for it to burn down to a more manageable size before extinguishing the flames.
No one was hurt and there is no major damage. Firefighter said it should only take a couple hours to put the fire out.
