PASCO, WA - The summer construction season is in full swing, and we're getting a lot of questions about new buildings going up around the Tri-Cities. Jolene sent us a Facebook message this week asking, "What are they building off Road 68 in Pasco, behind Cousin's and Shakey's Pizza?"
We talked with the City of Pasco, and they tell us it's going to be a new extended stay hotel. My Place Hotels promise clean, comfortable rooms for travelers on a budget. Each room will feature a mini-kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator and a small stove-top. The 52-room hotel in Pasco will also include a small convenience store on site, and they're hoping to open their doors this fall.
"That area has easy freeway access. You can get just about anywhere in the Tri-Cities within 10 minutes. There's a good mix of businesses in the area, and there's also the draw that the soccer facility and the softball complex provide," said Rick White, Pasco's Economic & Community Development Director.
This will be the first My Place Hotel west of the Rocky Mountains. Most of their hotels are located in Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas, but there are plans to add another location in Spokane in the near future.
