KENNEWICK, WA - The new Trios Health Southridge Hospital will start receiving patients in exactly one week
Tuesday they received a generous donation instead from John and Priscilla Cadwell, they announced that they are giving the hospital $1 million.
It is all part of a community wide effort to raise $5 million for top of the line medical equipment.
The Cadwells own Cadwell Laboratories in Kennewick. Priscilla is also a co-chair on the campaign to raise the money for the hospital.
They say it's an investment that will help train whole new generation of doctors and help better serve local patients.
"One doctor has the potential of serving 10,000 patients in their lifetime so to bring doctors here and train them, what this gift means to us exponentially we get a huge gift for a small among of money," said Priscilla Cadwell.
So far the campaign has raised more than 2.5 million dollars as the Trios Spokeskids helped demonstrate Tuesday.
Hospital officials said they are just counting down the days until they open their doors next Tuesday.
