Local firefighters are taking on a new fire west of Lake Chelan that sparked Thursday afternoon. Local firefighters are taking on a new fire west of Lake Chelan that sparked Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE/CHELAN, WA - On the west side of Lake Chelan, a wildfire has sparked. The 25-Mile Fire quickly burned across 350 acres by Thursday evening. Some residents have been told to leave their homes.

CHELAN, WA. - Local firefighters are taking on a new fire west of Lake Chelan that sparked Thursday afternoon.

The Department of Natural Resources tells NBC Right Now the 25 Mile Fire is fast moving and has potential for high growth. It's currently about 60 acres and the DNR predicts a Washington Incident Management Team will be dispatched soon.
