YAKIMA COUNTY, WA - Firefighters are still trying to figure out what started a large fire in the Cowiche-Tieton area Wednesday night.

Highland firefighters say the fire along Naches Heights Road spread across 20 acres. It burned two mobile homes, several vehicles and outbuildings. Everyone inside those buildings got out unharmed.

Neighbors tell NBC Right Now after they left their houses they heard several explosions coming from the area. They were not sure if it was a car or equipment in a nearby garage. They also say there were about 20 homes in that area which were threatened by the flames.

Everyone was evacuated from the area and no one was injured. Firefighters say the wind was their biggest concern because it was very strong and could have spread the fire in any direction very quickly.

Fire crews were able to complete a dozer line around the flames and got them under control.
