PASCO,WA - Basin Disposal is now sporting a new and improved fleet of solid waste collection vehicles.

Friday they unveiled their new fleet of trucks with natural gas powered engines. Cascade Natural Gas worked with Basin Disposal to set up a special gas line to their site on commercial drive.

They hope it will be used by other local businesses who want to use natural gas to power their vehicles.

"Bottom line, we need energy independence and what this family business, the Dietricks have done here at Columbia Basin Disposal is they've helped take a step forward for their nation's security so that we don't have to depend on foreign nations for our oil supply," said Sen. Janea Holmquist, (R) 13th District.

So far seven of the 70 plus vehicles in the fleet have been converted and they hope to get more switched over in the near future.
