Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA-- On Monday the candidates for Yakima County Sheriff will meet the public as they get ready for the primary election.

The election will be on August 5th and right now there are six candidates in the running.

Some of the candidates are Anthony Bosworth who has a long military career and is looking to be a new kind of sheriff that holds law enforcement accountable for their actions.

Deputy Brian Winter, who has work for the sheriff's department for more than 20-years and worked in local law enforcement for many years before that, is also in the running.

Another candidate is Stephen Changala who brings more than 30-years of local law enforcement to the table.

And Jim Keightley who says he can improve the department by beefing up personnel, which will then provide better service to the community.

The luncheon is open to the public.

It is $30.00 to get in.  It starts at 11:30 at the Yakima Red Lion.
