The Skamania County Sheriff's Office responded around 8 p.m. Monday to a man stuck in the water at Dougan Falls. Personnel crews arrived and found John Napierkowski, 19, stuck in chest deep water with both legs trapped underneath.

First responders threw down ropes and a life jacket. Additional resources arrived and fitted Napierkowski with a harness and threw him additional rope. Crews pulled him up and paramedics transported him to a hospital.

Crews believe Napierkowski was stuck in the water for around one hour. He was able to follow instructions, but he was lethargic.
