KENNEWICK, WA -  A big move for Trios Health is finally over with. They transferred patients to the new Trios Southridge Hospital and officially opened their doors.

The hospital officially opened their doors to patients at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

One patient was even a little early, she said she feels lucky to be one of the first people taken care of at the newest hospital in the state.

Carla Martin explained, "the facility is amazing, I haven't been in anything quite so nice."

She arrived at Trios' new Southridge Hospital Tuesday morning just before the official opening time.

"They were so nice to me because they didn't leave me standing outside, the bus got me here early and the security guard was just really very kind," she said.

She also said she feels blessed to be one of Trios' first patients at the new hospital.

"I just never stopped to think that I was going to be or could potentially be the first person here," Martin said.

Hospital staff transported 28 patients from the Auburn campus Tuesday morning, one of those was Catherine Best's mom.

"My mom was a part of history making in the Tri-Cities, so it was exciting for her as sick as she is, she was excited to be a part of that," Best said.

She also added the move went very smoothly and staff were great at making them feel comfortable despite the situation.

"The new facility is phenomenal, anybody that comes in here I'm sure is really going to receive good care. It's clean, It's very well organized, just a beautiful building."
