Firefighters & Heat Exhaustion

Posted: Updated:
KENNEWICK, WA - With so many fires, firefighters are working around the clock fighting the fires, mopping up, and watching for flare-ups.

In this hot weather, firefighters need to be aware of how their body is feeling, so they don't suffer heat exhaustion.

"Everybody's hyrdated. Anytime any body's starting to feel like they're being affected, they've got to stop and pull out and get them in rehab. When you go in you're always looking for your escape routes, safety zones and all that. That's got to be pre-planned in to what you do," Prosser Fire District 3 Chief Doug Merritt explained.
