Judicial Conduct Commission Files Statement of Charges Against Granger Municipal Court Judge

Posted: Updated:
GRANGER, WA - A Granger Municipal Court Judge is charged with violating several rules of the code of judicial conduct.

The State Commission of Judicial Conduct says Judge Kathleen Hitchcock violated the code by conduct leading to her detention and arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol, by being untruthful to the arresting officer in claiming not to have consumed any alcohol that morning or the night before due to her medical condition and by citing her status as a judicial officer in an apparent attempt to influence a law enforcement official.

The commission has filed a statement of charges and Judge Hitchcock has 21 days to file an answer, unless that time to respond is extended by the commission. If an answer is filed, there will be a public hearing.
