Moxee Man Faces Burglary Charges

Posted: Updated:
TERRACE HEIGHTS, WA - A 42-year-old Moxee could be facing charges after Yakima County Sheriff's deputies found him around a home that didn't belong to him.

Around 8:50 a.m. on Friday, deputies  responded to a general alarm call at a home on the 5000 block of North Sky Vista in Terrace Heights.  The homeowner was reportedly out of town.

When deputies got to the home, they saw that there were no vehicles in the driveway, but when they checked around the home, they found a man walking away from a sliding glass backdoor that led into the home.  The man was notably wearing blue latex gloves and so was detained by officers.

Investigation revealed that the homeowner did not know the man and stated no one was authorized to be at or in the home.  The suspect was also found to be in possession of prescription medication containers bearing the name of the absent resident.

The suspects vehicle was located a few blocks away along with his shoe prints indicating he had entered the property via a vacant field that led into the back yard of the residence.

The residence was checked and no other suspects were found.  The man was brough to the Yakima County jail pending a burglary charge.
