24-Year-Old Yakima Man Killed in Motorcycle versus Car Accident

 YAKIMA, WA - On Friday around 7:30 p.m., Yakima Police responded to the intersection of S. 10th Avenue and W. Viola Avenue for a fatal car versus motorcycle collision.  Officers arrived and found that a 1999 Yamaha YZF R6 motorcycle heading westbound, at what was described by witnesses as a high rate of speed, on West Viola Avenue failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with a 2001 Chrysler town and country minivan that was driving southbound on S. 10th Avenue after having stopped at the stop sign.

The motorcycle collided with the left rear of the minivan and the rider was ejected and suffered serious injuries.  First aid was rendered at the scene and the rider was transported to the hospital where he later died. 

The rider of the motorcycle was identified as 24-year-old Brandon Rossman of Yakima.
