KENNEWICK, WA – A group of people in the Tri-Cities decided to set up at Costco in Kennewick and fill a truck of donated items for wildfire victims up north.

About one hour in it the first truck was already full and they had to get a second. They were collecting water, nonperishable food and other items for the people affected by the fires.

"The support has been amazing. The people that have brought stuff are so generous giving what they have. We were hoping that with everybody just bringing a little bit, that would make a lot and that's what it's done."

Everyone brought what they could. While we were there a woman unloaded around $400 worth of items onto the truck that she had just purchased. The group says they made a trip Sunday night to a shelter in Brewster and they're already considering making a second trip possibly later this week.
