KENNEWICK, WA - Every hydro racing team has their own style and a local man has contributed to just about every team's ensemble.

Eric Petring has always loved to paint and he's always been a racing fan. When he combined those loves he quickly became a favorite airbrush painter among hydro drivers.

Petring designs and paints the color schemes on the hydros, which can take hundreds of work hours for each job. This week he's putting the final touches on many of the helmets you'll see drivers wearing this weekend at water follies.

"It's almost indescribable to have put so much time and effort into making stuff so perfect and so beautiful and then you get to go hand it to the driver and have him just go, "yeah, that's cool," explained Petring.

He likes to use flashy and colorful paint whenever he can. His business Central Coast Airbrush works with each crew to make sure those paint jobs also match their team's colors.
