KENNEWICK, WA - Hydros will be soaring across the Columbia River this weekend but it's not all fun and games.

Organizers want people to remember some rules before they head down to the Water Follies.

Organizers said deputies from both the Benton and Franklin County Sheriff's Departments will be stepping up their boating patrols for the event.

They will be cracking down on drunk driving and making sure swimmers stay out of the racing zones.

Event security will have DUI check points at all entrances as alcohol is prohibited at the event.

Anyone with large bags or coolers will be searched at these check points and pets will not be allowed in.

In addition, the Pasco and Kennewick sides of the river will have different rules.

Kathy Powell, Event Director said, "on the pasco side we're asking everybody to pick up there tents at the end of the day in the general admission area so that everybody has a great chance at getting at those viewing spots on the shore."

While on the Kennewick shore there will be isles leading down to the water so everyone can enjoy the races and the views.

Organizers encourage everyone to have fun, be safe and enjoy the races this coming weekend.
