KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police are investigating several burglaries in the last couple days.

Police say burglars broke into a cargo trailer on a South Cliff, Thompson Hill construction site and stole $10,000 in tools.

Then on Monday, Police received a report of another burglary at a construction site.

Police said Andy Mata, the site foreman reported that sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 5:30 a.m. Tuesday someone forced their way into 3019 S Dennis Pl and 3031 S Dennis Pl. Both units are under construction in the same building and share a common wall. Mata told police he did not see anything missing from either unit.

Finally on Tuesday, Shane Markel, the owner of Taco Time on Clearwater Ave. reported the floor safe was stolen from the business overnight.

Kennewick officers said they did not find signs of forced entry.  They said the surveillance video shows a man walking up to the back door, possibly talking on a cell phone. Police also said it appears the man quickly walked in the back door but they do not know if he used a key or not.

According to police, the video show the man trying to open the safe with a digital code. He then leaves and comes back with a dark colored Jeep Grand Cherokee which he is later seen loading the safe into. Police say the video shows another person driving the car.

Officers do not have any suspects right now but ask anyone who may have seen or heard something suspicious to call them with that information.

According to police, during the first six months of 2014, residential burglaries are up 14% and commercial burglaries have seen a 5% increase over the same time period in 2013.
