ALGIERS, Algeria - France's foreign minister says the Air Algerie flight that has gone missing over Mali, has "probably crashed."
Authorities say the plane was carrying 110 passengers and a crew of six. It disappeared from the radar while flying from Burkina Faso to Algiers Thursday morning.
France's transport minister says the crew's last message asked air control to change the plane's route because of heavy rains in the area.
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius says "no trace" of the plane has been found. Two French fighter jets are among aircraft scouring the rugged north of Mali for the MD-83 that was traveling from the Burkina Faso capital of Ouagadougou to Algiers, the Algerian capital.
Burkina Faso's transport minister says 50 French nationals were among those on board.
The official Algerian news agency says air navigation services lost track of the plane 50 minutes after takeoff.
