PASCO, WA - The HAPO Over the River Air Show has a bit of good sportsmanship this year. The pilot of the T-33 Ace Maker, Gregory Colyer, is from California. He is a San Francisco football fan, does flyovers for the 49ers games, and happens to be friends with Water Follies air show director Scott Meyer.
Last fall, the two of them made a bet on the NFC Championship game.
"The bet was that if the 49ers won, I would have to run the air show in a 49ers jersey up on top of the barge. If he lost, if the Hawks kicked their butt, then he would have to fly his Friday show in his airplane in a 12th man jersey," Meyer said.
A reporter asked Colyer how he feels about sporting a 12th Man jersey and he said 'good.'
"I'm repaying a debt. I'm a gracious loser," Colyer said.
Colyer is slated to do a flyover for the Thanksgiving match up between the two teams this season. Meyer and Colyer plan to bet again.
