Boston native Don Granese is excited to be exploring the Pacific Northwest as a reporter for NBC Right Now.While attending Elon University in North Carolina he got a knack for telling people’s stories.
Working as a reporter for Elon’s Phoenix 14 News Granese was awarded multiple national honors for his work including a Broadcast Education Association award for his coverage of “Occupy Greensboro” as well as a College Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for best overall college newscast. He also worked to create, executive produce and co-host the school’s successful entertainment talk show “e-talk” earning him a Telly award.
He got a taste for “big” news stories during his time at WCVB-TV in Boston as a news intern. He helped in the coverage of the Bruins Stanley Cup Victory, the capture of one of the most wanted men in the nation James “Whitey” Bulger and the Tornados that ripped through Springfield, MA in 2011.
Since joining NBC Right Now he has fallen in love with the region and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the great people that live here. If you’d like to connect with Don or send him an idea you’d like to see him report you can email him: email@example.com
