KENNEWICK, WA- A lot of work goes into making the Water Follies a successful event. As the yearly event continues to grow in all aspects, so do the numbers.

"We have better than 200RV'ss in the park, and each one of those probably has eight or 10 guests. So, it's just a full time weekend here in columbia park," said Kathy Powell, Water Follies Event Coordinator.

That would equal out to around 1,600 to 2,000 people in RV's alone. Lori Schumacher agreed there is a rise in attendance.

"Well we're always full. There's one area that is full, that's the RV terrace. They have 20 spaces there. We have the RV main, which is 83 spaces and we have over 90 in the pit area," Schumacher said.

In total they have 500 port-a-potties, 200 tents, 300 volunteers,  fives miles of fencing, and 50 Water Follies board members. They also sell out every year for vendor spots.

"We have over 40 wonderful vendors here, great food, great visuals. Come on down, enjoy the day. The shoreline is full today. The numbers are looking good, people are having a good time. Come and join us," Schumacher said.

Nancy Grooms was a vendor this weekend.

"I'm actually expecting a lot of people to turn out today. It's been better than it has been in years passed for a Friday. So, i'm really excited about having everybody here. Sales have been good and we're delighted to be here," Grooms said.

Last year Water Follies attracted nearly 65,000 people, but they are expecting close to 70,000 this year.  For a complete schedule of events, click here.
