Dust Devils Top Volcanoes in Extra Innings

PASCO, WA - The Tri-City Dust Devils and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes battled it out for 13 innings in front of a big crowd of 2,303 fans who saw the Dust Devils win 4-3 Thursday night at Gesa Stadium. Tri-City (4-6 Second Half, 18-30 Overall) first baseman Miguel Dilone scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 13th inning.

Dust Devils starter Blake Shouse was magnificent against the Volcanoes Thursday night. Shouse went six innings and allowed just one unearned run on four hits in one of his best outings of the season.

Salem-Keizer (7-3 Second Half, 25-23 Overall) starting pitcher Nick Gonzalez was equally impressive. Gonzalez went seven innings, allowing two runs, one of which was earned, on four hits and struck out four Dust Devils. Neither starting pitcher was involved in the decision.

Tri-City had runners in scoring position in each of the last five innings.

Relief pitcher John Sheehan (2-0) pitched two innings, allowing just one hit and striking out two while getting the win for the Dust Devils. Sheehan's two strikeouts were the only two recorded by Tri-City pitchers thurThursdayht.

Volcanoes reliever Armando Paniagua (0-2) allowed the winning run, pitching 1 2/3 innings and giving up two walks and a hit in the loss.

Tri-City and Salem-Keizer will play the middle game in their five games series Friday night at Gesa Stadium.
