TWISP, Wash.- Evacuation levels have been re-evaluated for the Rising Eagle Road Fire burning just south of Winthrop.   Level 3 evacuation level remain in place in the area of Wandling Road Rising Eagle Road Hill Drive and Signal Hill.

Level 2 evacuation orders are in effect for Twin Lakes Road to Wolf Creek intersection Sun Mountain Ranch, Sun Mountain Resort Pine Forest, Upper Bear Creek Road, East Chewuch Road to Boulder Creek, and Pearrygin Lake State Park is closed for the weekend.

Level 1 evacuation roders are in place for Winthrop City.   Highway 20 now open to all traffic. The Forest Closure Order has been expanded to include a larger area to the north of the Carlton Complex. Current closure information can be obtained by calling the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest (509) 996-4000 or on the web at http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/okawen/alerts-notices

Two shelters have been established at the Methow Valley Community Center, 201 S. Methow Valley Highway in Twisp, and the Mazama Community Church, 18202 Highway 20, in Mazama.

The American Red Cross has opened two evacuation centers: the Methow Valley Community Center, 201 S. Methow Valley Highway, in Twisp, and the Mazama Community Church, 18202 Highway 20, in Mazama, due to Level 2 evacuations called in the Winthrop and Level 3 in Sun Mountain areas.

TWISP, Wash.- According to the Department of Natural Resources a new fire has started south of Winthrop, near the command center for the Carlton Complex fires. This fire is not apart of the Carlton Complex fires, but crews from those fires are assisting. Washington's Department of Natural Resources tells us the fire is 200-300 acres in size, there are structures lost and more threatened. They say the fire is running in intense behavior, and is being whipped up by the wind. We're told sparks from a flat tire on a trailer may be to blame for the blaze, but that has not yet been confirmed.

There are 50 homes in the path of the fire, according to Washington State Patrol.

The Department of Natural Resources has every piece of aircraft available on it with 3 scoopers, 3 fire bosses and 2 rotors. It is burning within 200 yards of Liberty Bell High School, which is where the Incident Command Post for Carlton Complex Fire is.

Rising Eagle Road is a level 3 evacuation. Winds in the area are blowing to the East.

Level 3 Evacuations for Twin Lakes Rd, Wandling Rd, Signal Hill Rd. and Hwy 20 closed from milepost 196 to 202. Sun Mountain Lodge has also been evacuated.

Level 2 evacuations are in place for Winthrop.

Fire Information tells me this is not their fire but they are assisting and this new fire is moving fast. The Carlton Complex information says they are experiencing 20 miles per hour winds with thunderstorms moving through the area.

We will update you as soon as we get more information.
